I'm smiling, cupping your face like a fragile wine glass. I'm crying, but by smiling I'm hoping you don't notice them.
"Though we are leaving... Though we may never cross path's again, I loved you, and surely, I always will." I say, letting go of your pained face.
I walk away, in to the crowd of people, hoping to blend in. I look back, and you're on the ground on your knees, staring at a ring in a box.
My heart slowly breaks, but my smile stays strong. I never should've looked back.
The tears drop on to the ground, and it begins to drizzle. Everyone is running to shelter as I continue to walk away.
I'm not looking back. I'm never looking back. I don't want to look back.
I feel arms wrap around me, hugging me from behind. I hear faint "Don't leave"'s.
I look back. This time, my smile fades and my mask breaks. I bury my head in to your chest, and cry. Little sobs escape from my lips.
"I promised myself I wouldn't look back or I'd only see regrets. But all I found was a miracle.." I whispered.
